Vermont Heating Plant

This compact structure serves as a centralized heating plant for the Vermont Performance Lab. Clad in horizontal cedar siding with a mono-pitch standing seam roof, the plant structure houses a high-temperature wood gasification boiler that heats unpressurized water in a re-purposed 2,500 gallon milk storage tank. A heat exchanger then conveys heat to an insulated and pressurized underground distribution loop that is connected to radiant heating systems on the site.
